Fan filter unit is composed mainly of a casing, fan, filter and motor. FFU provides the unidirectional and clean airflow through HEPA/ULPA filter to the room with very little turbulence, thereby minimizing the risk of contamination in cleanroom.
FFU is normally ceiling-mounted. In large cleanrooms, the number of FFUs ranges from hundreds to thousands.

There are 5 main points determining the price of fan filter unit: FFU material, FFU size, FFU air volume, quantity and types of filters.
1. FFU material
Fan filter unit material on the market is diverse. Aluminum-zinc, galvanized steel, powder-coated, sus 201 stainless steel, sus 304 stainless steel, to name a few.
Sus 304 stainless steel is corrosion-resistant and has strong performance stability, which meets the requirements of cleanrooms. The value determines the price.
Therefore, the price of stainless steel fan filter unit is higher than that of aluminum-zinc and galvanized steel FFU.
2. FFU size
FFUs can be customized according to customer’s requests.

3. FFU air volume
The standard airflow is 1080 m³/h for FFU 1175 and 550 m³/h for FFU 575.

Some fan filter units use ULPA filter (Ultra Low Penetration Air Filter) with a filtration efficiency of 99.9995% of particles down to 1.2 microns.
